The Goals:
• Tech skills
• Responsibility
• Empowerment
There are many wonderful lessons when learning to operate a drone, but for Woody, I believe the most important are the responsibilities of maintaining the drone, the empowerment of being the 'go to guy' when it comes to drone shots, and the constant tinkering that comes with tech devices.

The Drone: DJI Spark
This drone is friggin' nuts. It's not only lightweight and easy to launch, but it recognizes hand gestures while in the air and will launch and land in the palm of your hand. Here's Woody's explanation in diagram form:

Next steps are to master these hand gestures and different flight modes in order to capture amazing video that we can then edit in iMovie.

Whoosh! Pant! Phew! A lesson learned.
We thought the wind was manageable, but nope. The drone drifted away from our control, but we were able to run it down and land it safely. See the video for the fearful reunion.
Quick, launch the drone!
Within two minutes of Mami noticing a "kirei" sky from our living room window, Woody had his drone up at 300 feet taking these pics.
